Project synopsis:

The project aims at creating, in the North-East Region, of an interdisciplinary competence center materialized in a research base with multiple users for performing thermo-rheological characterization of polymer-based materials. The center will join interdisciplinary and complementary competences from ?Petru Poni? Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Iasi, ?Polymers? Center of Excellence from ?Gheorghe Asachi? Technical University, Iasi, and the National Institute for Research and Development for Technical Physics Iasi. The project will last for 24 months and during this period it will contribute to extending and consolidating of the existent thermo-rheological characterization laboratories in institutions involved in the project, by purchasing specific equipments/modules, which will complete and develop the already existing functioning equipment. The project activities include all the actions that should be fulfilled to reach the final objective: project implementation, repairing and environment set-up of the laboratories that will host the equipments, purchasing of equipment and laboratory furniture, management-dissemination activities. The coordination of the project is done by a Council including the project director, two scientific managers, one technical coordinator, one scientific coordinator and one financial manager. The project will result in bringing together the scientific potential into a research center ? a regional pole of excellence ? that will represent an example of good practices in the field of material characterization.
